Vibration and sound insulation scheme for hotel floor slabs

Impact noise transmission through floor slabs represents a critical technical challenge and a primary focal point in quality assurance and acoustic commissioning for star-rated hotels. Given the high-frequency occupancy and intensive use of guestrooms, impact vibrations induced by footfall, luggage rolling, furniture repositioning, and object drop events are transmitted as structure-borne sound through the bare reinforced concrete slab, resulting in inter-room acoustic interference between vertically adjacent guest units. This phenomenon directly compromises occupant comfort and adversely affects property star-rating assessments. Conventional bare slab constructions lack any resilient isolation or cushioning layer, rendering them inherently incapable of mitigating structure-borne noise propagation. Our dedicated floating-floor acoustic underlayment solutions, engineered specifically for hospitality commercial applications, employ a decoupled floor buildup with resilient interlayer construction to effectively attenuate impact sound transmission at the structural level. The system is fully compatible with both new-build hotel projects and refurbishment initiatives, delivering precise compliance with star-rated hotel acoustic performance criteria, and ensuring a tranquil, high-end habitation environment with superior acoustic privacy

Installation Methods

  • 1

1.Clean the floor and sprinkle water to moisten it.

  • 2

    2. Laying, sweeping, and adhesive mortar glue

  • 3

    3. Cut and lay the soundproofing mat according to the actual dimensions

  • 4

    4. Lay the soundproof mat and fold the edges at the corners of the wall.

  • 5

    5. Spread a 30mm thick layer of dry-mixed mortar

  • 6

    6. Laying floor tiles and wood flooring finishes

Product Information

* For wooden flooring applications, a "polyurethane rubber soundproof and shock-absorbing damping mat" is laid under the wooden floor. The added height of the floor structure is equal to the material thickness CDM600 3mm;

* For tile flooring applications, a "soundproof and shock-absorbing damping mat" is laid under the tile mortar bed, with a cement-sand layer thickness ≥30mm. The added height of the floor structure is equal to the material thickness plus the thickness of the mortar layer.

  • Overall low cost

Because the Webot soundproofing pad has a high density, there is no need to make a concrete layer, thereby reducing the overall unit cost.

    1
  • Short Construction Period

Since Vibotech soundproof mats do not require a concrete layer, they dry quickly after installation, thereby shortening the construction period.

    2
  • Easy Construction

Since Vibot soundproof mats do not require a concrete layer, construction is quick.

    3
  • Good Sound Insulation

Webote soundproof mats are made from patented acoustic roll materials, offering excellent sound absorption and noise reduction performance.
